DENTAL CARE FOR ADULTS

A very common misconception surrounding orthodontics is that braces and clear aligners are only for kids. On the contrary, many adults can benefit from straighter teeth and a more stable bite. Fort McMurray Orthodontics provides braces for adults in Fort McMurray – in fact, over 40% of our patient family consists of adults ranging from 20-60 years old! We all know crooked teeth are often more difficult to clean than straight teeth, and can contribute to tooth decay, gum issues, and bone loss. On occasion, a bad bite can lead to headaches, jaw joint problems, and increased wear and tear of your teeth.

Remember, age is just a number and should not be a hurdle in achieving that healthy smile you have always wanted and deserved! Book an appointment with the awesome team at Fort McMurray Orthodontics today, and see how you can benefit from our orthodontic specialist!

TRADITIONAL BRACES AND INVISALIGN TEEN® FOR ADOLESCENTS IN FORT MCMURRAY

The most common age for orthodontic treatment occurs between 11 and 15 years of age, usually after all of your adult teeth have erupted. Having treatment initiated during this time allows your treatment to be the most effective and efficient, since your teeth’s supporting bone and gum tissues are still quite flexible, allowing your teeth to move much more rapidly.

At Fort McMurray Orthodontics, we provide both traditional braces and Invisalign Teen® for adolescents in Fort McMurray. Invisalign® is often referred to as invisible braces; they are actually clear aligners that are placed over the teeth to shift them into the desired position. A new aligner set is made about every 2 weeks.

Contact Dr. Koh at Fort McMurray Orthodontics and we can discuss whether traditional braces or invisible braces are right for both adults and teens.
